Customers: So picky, so choosey, so hard to please.

It’s good to be picky. And there’s nothing wrong with knowing what you want. But being choosey and knowing what you want aren’t the same thing. We run into a lot of customers who know they want something-they need to build an online community, they need to produce a funny commercial, they need to juice up their website-but they’re not sure specifically what it is they need to do. They’re constantly bombarded by vendors offering flavor-of-the-month solutions that sound just perfect. They go through a rigorous vendor-selection and negotiation process and before you know it, they’re in production. Six months later (Or a year. Or two.) they’re no better off than they were before. Picking the “right” vendor isn’t much help if you’re not really sure what you’re trying to do in the first place.
